Find Therapy via Zoom for Agoraphobia

Find Therapy via Zoom for Agoraphobia

https://sites.google.com/view/online-therapist-agoraphobia/find-therapy-via-zoom-for-agoraphobia

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I am a professional psychotherapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy which I offer online via Skype for treating anxiety disorders including agoraphobia.

So I'm often asked if there is a cure for agoraphobia. Can agoraphobia be cured? And the answer is yes it can, as long as you take a very strategic and disciplined approach to overcoming the underlying anxiety of agoraphobia.

The biggest problem that I encounter is that people tend to get into patterns of avoidance. They tend to try to avoid any triggers that might create anxiety. But you have to understand that avoidance itself is a form of anxiety-based reaction and that simply feeds the underlying anxiety. So taking a disciplined approach that's against avoidance is very important. You must not avoid your anxiety. You will not help it heal or change if you do.

So we have to learn to work with our anxiety, but in a very skillful and effective way and that's where Mindfulness Therapy comes in. It's a very effective way of working with anxiety and reducing and eliminating anxiety so that you can restore your freedom to move that you had before the onset of your agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia online therapy

Online Therapy via Skype for the treatment of Agoraphobia

https://sites.google.com/view/online-therapist-agoraphobia/agoraphobia-online-therapy

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in online therapy and I offer online therapy for agoraphobia. So, agoraphobia online therapy is very effective for people who really can't get out of the house to work with a therapist in their local area. So, during these sessions that I offer via Skype, I focus on teaching you very effective mindfulness-based methods of working with your anxiety and panic attacks. The real important thing to understand here is that Agoraphobia is really a psychological habit. I prefer to call it a habit rather than a disorder because when you start labeling these psychological states as disorders that tends to reinforce your sense of helplessness as a victim, and we don't want to do that. The actual mechanism that generates the anxiety and panic attacks of agoraphobia is a habit and habits can be changed.

So during online agoraphobia therapy sessions I will guide you in how to work with the underlying emotions and thought patterns that supports that anxiety. We do this in a surprising way. We actually learn to make friends with our fear. This is very, very important. You can't change the belief when it has a very strong emotional charge based on fear. No amount of rational arguments or persuasion that you don't need to feel this way is going to change that anxiety. You have to learn to work with the anxiety directly. And that's what you do during mindfulness therapy. We actually learn to meditate on your own fear as you imagine walking or traveling out of your safe zone.

So, we set up a series of challenges, exposures, if you like, where you choose to do a particularly difficult exercise but one that you can manage. But then we prepare for this by playing it through in the mind it might be walking around the block or just simply leaving the house for a few minutes, whatever it might be. We design a challenge and then we prepare for it by meditating on it. We play it through in the mind and then we look for the fear reactions and we look for the thought reactions that feed that fear and then we develop a mindfulness-based relationship with these emotions and thoughts, and that relationship is based on friendliness. You learn, essentially, to sit with your emotions and thoughts without becoming overwhelmed by them, without losing your balance. This is central. This is a central part of mindfulness training, that you can be with your thoughts and emotions but not be overwhelmed by them. When you can do dance then you start to break the habits that get reinforced by re-traumatizing, essentially, that fear.

So, we learn to sit with our emotions without becoming reactive and without identifying with those emotions. We learn to develop this other side of our identity, which we call the True Self, the Observer Mind, that which can be conscious of thoughts and emotions but is not identified with thoughts or emotions. We then work with those emotions and begin to treat them very much as you might treat a child that's afraid. we learn to comfort the emotion itself, the fear. you build a strong relationship with it, rather like a parent to a child. And in this way the fear reaction, that we might call the Little Self is able to let go of its fear by proximity to your True Self which is fearless nature. So, in this way we begin to build resolution pathways in the brain.

You learn, basically, how to help the emotions resolve themselves, so that if they get triggered they simply resolve instantly, on the spot, through the training that you've done before you do the challenge And then you go out and walk around the block or whatever and put this training into action. So, we repeat this process over and over again. Meditation before challenge and we do the challenge and we may come back and meditate some more and then we repeat the challenge until we no longer feel any fear in doing that challenge. Then we move on to a harder challenge. And in this way we gain more and more confidence in the process.

So, when you are able to neutralize these emotional reactions then the beliefs begin to change quite automatically. We don't need to try and change our beliefs. We simply need to change the emotional content that fuels those beliefs and makes them so powerful. If you would like to learn more about agoraphobia therapy online do please send me an email and we can schedule a Skype Therapy session. Thank you.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a mindfulness-based psychotherapist, living in Boulder, Colorado, and I provide Skype Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and for help with recovery from chronic depression and also for help with addiction recovery.

If you would like to talk to a psychologist online who specializes in mindfulness therapy then please simply go to my website and send me an email and ask any questions you have about mindfulness therapy and this approach and how it can help you with your specific needs.

Generally, online therapy is very effective indeed, especially for anxiety and non-clinical depression. It is a much better alternative than years of talk therapy or other treatment-based options because Mindfulness Therapy teaches you specifically how to change your emotional reactions.

All emotional reactions are basically habits and all habits can be changed when you bring more consciousness to them. So, when you apply mindfulness to an emotional habit like anxiety or depression it changes, and it makes it much more effective in what you do in trying to help that anxiety or depression resolve and heal.

Basically, the most important thing is to build a mindfulness-based relationship with your emotions, based on consciousness and compassion. These two qualities are what really characterize mindfulness; it's much more than just awareness. Most people are already aware of their emotional suffering, but they are not necessarily conscious of the emotional habit, the underlying process that creates their anxiety or depression.

This consists of habitual reactive thinking and habitual reactive behaviors and also habitual reactive imagery. One of the hallmarks of Mindfulness Therapy is examining the imagery of your emotions, what makes them work. And, of course, when you uncover that emotional imagery you have something very definite to work with, and when you change emotional imagery, you change the emotion.

If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and you would like to talk to a psychologist online who specializes in Buddhist psychology and the mindfulness approach, then please go to my website and then send me an email and we can schedule a Skype therapy session at a time that works for you.

It doesn't matter where you live, as long as you have an internet connection, we can arrange a Skype therapy session. So, please contact me. Thank you.

Skype Therapy Service Online

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I specialize in online therapy because I find it a very effective way of helping my clients overcome anxiety and depression and other emotional problems.

Most people, and perhaps this applies to you too, that are suffering from anxiety or depression, really, what they need is a way of working with the psychological process that creates that emotional suffering.

Medications and the medical approach don't really treat the psychological habit that creates anxiety or depression, or panic attacks. Medications only alleviate symptoms temporarily, but they do not change that underlying psychological process. That is really what I am offering online through these Skype therapy sessions.

I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, and mindfulness therapy really works extremely well with anxiety and depression. It does help you change the way that you relate to your emotions. That's the most important thing that needs to change.

The habit is to become identified with our emotions and our thoughts. This identification reaction feed the anxiety or depression and it stops it from changing or resolving.

One of the primary themes that we understand in Mindfulness Therapy is that when you change the habit that feeds anxiety or depression then that anxiety or depression will begin to resolve by itself; it will reduce in frequency and it will reduce in it's intensity if you stop fueling it, if you stop feeding it through patterns of habitual reactive thinking.

So, that a prime focus of Mindfulness Therapy which is what I teach during these Skype therapy sessions for anxiety and depression.

Most people see really substantial changes after relatively few sessions. Why? Well, simply because we focus very specifically on changing those underlying habits, and I teach you tools that you can apply yourself between sessions to really accelerate this process of overcoming reactive identification. When you do that then everything begins to change very much quicker.

No amount of medications will do that for you. Even talk therapy, by itself, is not enough; you have to change those patterns directly. Talking about your emotions also produces temporary relief from symptoms but it doesn't change that underlying process, and until you do, the anxiety or depression will simply return when the triggers are present.

So, if you would like to learn more about Skype therapy for anxiety and depression, simply email me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you!

If you wish to talk with an online psychotherapist, then visit my online therapy site to find out more about Online Psychological Counseling via Skype for overcoming anxiety and depression, addictions, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychological Trauma and other common types of emotional suffering not requiring medical treatment.

Standard counseling can be helpful, but often common talk therapy does not alter the underlying psychological process that is the real cause of your emotional suffering.

This also applies to the use of medications - the medication may provide a temporary relief from symptoms for a while, but medications can not transform the underlying psychological process that produces your emotional suffering.

The type of psychotherapy that I teach online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be extremely powerful for eliminating chronic anxiety and for treating chronic depression or other psychological difficulties caused by habitual reactive thinking. Most people notice quite significant changes after the first couple of sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

There are now many therapists helping people online. Skype therapy is a very popular service now and I have been offering it for many years to help people overcome anxiety and depression, really by learning more effective methods of working with your emotions.

The primary thing that helps is to learn how to break free from the habitual patterns of reactive thinking and identification with your emotions. We need to change this, we need to develop a conscious, mindful relationship with our emotions instead of feeding them through reactive thinking and reactive behaviors.

The moment you develop a conscious and non-reactive relationship with your anxiety or depression, then it will begin to change quite significantly from that point onward, and this is what I teach during the online therapy sessions that I offer. I will teach you specific mindfulness tools for overcoming those habitual patterns of reactivity.

Typically, people see significant changes once they learn how to apply mindfulness and most people will see significant reduction in the intensity and frequency of anxiety or panic attacks after the first couple of weeks of practicing the mindfulness techniques that I teach.

If you are interested in Skype therapy with me, simply send me an email. Go to my website and learn more about mindfulness therapy and how it can help you, and then send me an email to schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you.

Standard talk therapy can be helpful, but often it does not change the habitual psychological process that creates your depression or anxiety.

The same can be said for medications - the anti-anxiety medication may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications are not able to heal the underlying process that causes your anxiety or depression.

The type of psychotherapy that I teach online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is very powerful for controlling anxiety as well as for treating depression or other common psychological issues caused by habitual reactive thinking. Most of my clients experience quite dramatic improvements after 3-4 sessions of Skype Therapy.

Welcome! I provide Skype Therapy as a way of helping you work through anxiety and depression or any other emotional problem. Being able to chat to a therapist online can be very effective indeed and online chat therapy is now quite common in many countries, especially Australia and it is becoming more common in the US as well, where it may be difficult to find a local therapist to work with.

Also, a lot of people are becoming much more choosy these days in the particular type of psychotherapy that they wish to use. For example, there has been a great movement in cognitive-behavioral therapy and there is a shortage of good CBT therapists around, so the online CBT option has become very popular indeed, and there has been quite a bit of research showing that it is just as effective as therapy in-person.

Another style of psychotherapy that has gained a lot of interest recently is mindfulness-based therapy, and this is my specialty. I have developed a system of Mindfulness Therapy that works extremely well online for treating anxiety and depression and many other common emotional problems that don't require medical treatment.

This also applies to the use of medications - the prescription medications may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications  will not are not effective for changing the underlying psychological process that produces the emotional suffering.

The type of psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be extremely successful for managing chronic anxiety as well as for treating chronic depression and other common psychological issues resulting from habitual negative thinking. Most of my clients see quite substantial improvements after 3-4 sessions of Skype Therapy.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide Skype Therapy. If you would like to speak with a therapist online then this is the right place for you. Skype therapy is particularly effective if you are interested in finding an alternative to medications and conventional talk therapy.

The whole focus of the Skype therapy service that I provide is to help you learn very specific ways of working with anxiety and depression, of learning how to overcome the patterns of habitual emotional reactivity that create these emotional states, and this is something you can learn online just as well as in the therapist's office, and in some ways it maybe even better online because it puts you more in control and makes you less dependent on the therapist.

Good therapy is about learning how to work with your mind, it is not about forming a relationship with your therapist, it is not about spending hours and hours analyzing your family history, it is about how your mind works, how you create your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering. This is what we specialize in during these online therapy sessions. We use the techniques of Mindfulness Therapy that I developed some years ago for this very purpose.

Mindfulness is simply a way of looking directly at your experience, at your mind, without judgement and without reactivity to see exactly how it works. When you start to investigate emotional suffering in this way, one of the things you will discover is that most emotional suffering is the product of becoming overly identified with the mind - with thoughts, with emotions, with habitual reactive content that gets triggered in the mind.

We have to become conscious of these patterns of habitual reactivity if we really want to change, and this is much more important than just talking about your emotions and it is certainly is much more effective than just trying to treat the symptoms with medications. Sometimes medications are called for, but for most people they simply prevent you from changing the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression by dulling the symptoms. You need to be able to change that process and for that you need to be fully conscious and aware and develop insight into the way that your mind works.

A general rule here in Mindfulness Therapy is that the more conscious you become of these patterns, the less power they will have over you. The more conscious you become of the habit that creates your anxiety or depression, the less anxious or depressed you will feel.

Get help from an online therapist over Skype

Contact me if you would like to talk to a therapist online for help with anxiety or depression or if you would like to speak with a therapist for online help for recovery from an addiction.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provides online psychotherapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. If you'd like to talk to a therapist online for anxiety or if you'd like to speak to a therapist online for help with depression or if you'd like to talk with a therapist online for help with recovery from an addiction, then I invite you to go to my website and read more about online therapy and how it can help you overcome your anxiety or depression or addiction or other emotional problems.

My clients really enjoy talking to a therapist online because it's more convenient. It's easier to fit into a busy work schedule, and it's also very much more comfortable for you because you can have your session from home. You don't have to travel to a clinic or a therapist's office. So it's also generally less intimidating talking via Skype than it is talking in person. And this is quite important especially if you're working with anxiety, depression or addiction. People are often very uncomfortable about their emotional states and they don't like talking to a person directly. It's therefore a lot easier to talk about your emotional well-being online.

Also the style of therapy that I provide is not readily available, is called mindfulness therapy, and many people specifically choose this approach for working with anxiety or depression or addiction.

So mindfulness therapy is really quite different than traditional talk therapy or counseling. It's very different than psychoanalysis. It's not a process of trying to explain why you feel anxiety or depression, it is not trying to uncover the past or analyze your upbringing. Instead mindfulness therapy focuses on what you can do right now to change the psychological habits that are creating your anxiety or depression or the psychological habits that are fueling your addiction.

So during mindfulness therapy sessions I will teach you very practical ways of working with your emotions using mindfulness. The results are quite spectacular. Most people see very fast progress and generally I expect you to see significant changes in the intensity of your anxiety or depression within three to four sessions. I think that's quite important. You should see results. Psychotherapy should not be a process that takes countless sessions over the years to achieve results.

To me that simply indicates an inefficient process. Learning how to work with your emotions and overcoming anxiety or depression or addiction is simply a function of learning practical and effective strategic methods. And that's what we teach during online therapy sessions.

If you'd like to learn more and you are interested in talking to a therapist online via Skype then simply go to my website and send me an email and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you. Thank you.

Get started with online therapy for OCD via Skype

Talk to an online therapist over Skype for help with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

During our Skype therapy sessions I will teach you how to neutralize intrusive thoughts and emotions using the techniques of Mindfulness Therapy.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist and I offer online Mindfulness Therapy via Skype for the treatment of anxiety, depression addictions and particularly for help with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

So this is very common. It's a very common problem. It's very distressing for many people. And this is something that responds very well to the techniques of Mindfulness Therapy. If you're interested in seeing an online therapist for OCD then please reach out to me. Contact me and schedule a therapy session via Skype for your OCD.

So the principle of Mindfulness Therapy is learning how to work with these intrusive thoughts and compulsive impulses. Mindfulness is a way of changing the relationship that you have to intrusive thoughts and emotions in general. It overcomes this habit of becoming reactively identified with thoughts and emotions. This is the primary problem with OCD.

The thoughts get triggered and they appear in the mind. And then we simply become completely overwhelmed by them. We become identified with and become become consumed by the thought. And then it tends to propagate and produce even more thoughts, and that feeds the underlying anxiety that fuels the obsessive thoughts.

Working with intrusive OCD thoughts using Mindfulness Meditation

So the first step in Mindfulness Therapy is learning and retraining yourself to sit with a thought consciously, but without becoming identified with it and without becoming reactive. The process for doing this is meditation.

You learn to meditate on those thoughts. People think that meditation is about escaping from the mind and thoughts, and it's not. That is not the kind of meditation that I teach.

So mindfulness meditation is about learning to establish balance in the mind so that you can be free from emotional suffering no matter what thoughts arise in the mind. That's the primary focus for mindfulness meditation: freedom.

So that's the first part of the training and I will teach you how to do this and you will learn how to meditate on your intrusive thoughts and how to re-establish this balance so that they do not overwhelm you.

You need to learn to develop a compassionate and friendly relationship with your intrusive thoughts. If you try to avoid your thoughts or suppress them or run away from them or even distract yourself from them this will have the effect of reinforcing those thoughts, and more importantly, reinforcing the fear underneath those thoughts.

In mindfulness work we develop this inner fearlessness. This is what we call your True Self and the True Self is really nothing more than the observer within you that we train to sit with that thought or series of thoughts or to sit with the fear and not react to it.

So the emotion of fear, like any other emotion, is based around imagery. You can explore changing the imagery so that the fear resolves itself. This is a very important part of Mindfulness Therapy that we call mindfulness-based imagery reprocessing.

It Is the same process that we use when we're working with PTSD and recovering from very distressing, traumatic memories. Same process exactly. You look at the imagery itself, how it works and then we explore changing that imagery into a form that no longer triggers emotional trauma.

Contact me for help with OCD and intrusive thoughts

If you'd like to get started with me and schedule some online therapy sessions via Skype, then please contact me and let's set up a session. The mindfulness approach is really effective for working with intrusive and distressing thoughts and OCD.

So most people who I work with see quite remarkable changes within three or four sessions. Once you start learning how to apply mindfulness yourself to work with your fear and with the thoughts you'll rapidly see progress, and that's the focus of Mindfulness Therapy.

I will teach you how to work with your emotions and thoughts more effectively, to give you the tools to overcome OCD and anxiety.

So please contact me if you'd like to get started and you would like to overcome your OCD using Mindfulness Therapy. Thank you.

How to beat intrusive thoughts through Online Mindfulness Therapy via Skype

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide an online therapy for anxiety and depression and addictions and also for help with obsessive-compulsive disorder and intrusive thoughts.

So one of the best ways of overcoming intrusive thoughts and beating this problem of intrusive thoughts, and also images too, and memories is to learn how to work with these thoughts using mindfulness.

So I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy and I find it to be immensely effective for working with difficult intrusive thoughts.

So the best way to beat intrusive thoughts is not to fight them. If you fight those intrusive thoughts, if you try to get rid of them, that will end up feeding them and you will make them stronger and then they become even more intrusive.

So the best way to beat intrusive thoughts is to develop a friendly relationship with them. Now I know that may seem difficult because the intrusive thoughts cause so much pain and anxiety but it's only by making friends with those thoughts that you can ever hope to free yourself from intrusive thinking.

One of the best models, I think, for working with intrusive thoughts is to really examine why do those thoughts or images or memories keep coming back into the mind? Why are they intrusive?

And from a mindfulness perspective we see this intrusiveness as actually quite positive, in the sense that we recognize that those thoughts, those emotionally charged thoughts or images or memories are essentially trying to heal themselves. But in order to heal, they must have your conscious awareness, your conscious presence.

You need to have that conscious and friendly relationship with them in order to help them heal and make the changes that they need to make in order to heal.

So we must not under any circumstances avoid intrusive thoughts or memory images. Instead we must learn how to develop a conscious relationship with them, and developing a friendly relationship simply has the effect of increasing the quality of consciousness. This is what those thoughts need to change and heal.

So we develop a conscious and compassionate relationship with our intrusive thoughts. We then explore helping them heal. And this is technically called the response of compassion, which is a central and integral part of mindfulness.

We learn how to help them heal, how to help the thought or the emotion heal itself. We see that that thought is not you. It is an object in you, just like a child is not you; it is separate from you but it needs a relationship with you in order to heal. So we relate to our intrusive thoughts as being like objects, or even better being like that child that's coming to us for help.

You look at is structure. What does it actually need to heal? And one of the primary ways we can help it heal is to examine the emotional imagery of the intrusive thought or image or memory.

So the emotional part is what keeps it intrusive, it is what causes it to stay in the mind. It's the emotional charge of the thought or memory image that we must heal and change, and that emotional charge is primarily encoded in imagery.

So how we see the thought in the mind, how we see the memory in the mind, is what actually causes that memory or thought to have this emotional charge.

So we look at his imagery and then we explore changing that imagery, which we can do once we have a conscious relationship with the thoughts or memory images or other intrusive images. We look at the structure of the imagery and then we work on changing that imagery.

So this is a natural healing process. This is how emotions change. When the emotion changes then there is nothing to sustain the intrusive thoughts or belief or memory or anything else.

So it's by working with the imagery in this way that we can help intrusive thoughts heal, and when they heal they are no longer intrusive, they simply fall away like any other thoughts.

So please, if you would like to work on overcoming your intrusive thoughts please do send me an email and let's schedule a trial session. Most people see quite interesting changes even after the very first session and certainly after three or four sessions.

Talk to a therapist online for Effective Help for Anxiety

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist based in Colorado and I offer online therapy by Skype, worldwide. All you need is a good Internet connection and Skype and we can schedule Skype Therapy sessions. So if you are interested in talking to an online therapist for effective help with anxiety I invite you to go to my website and learn more about the mindfulness-based psychotherapy that I offer online and that I specialize in.

So Mindfulness Therapy is a very effective way of working with anxiety. It's really quite different than conventional counseling and it's also a better alternative, in my opinion, to medications. You want to address the underlying cause of your anxiety. You want to change the habitual reactive process that creates your anxiety.

Medications cannot do that, they are not able to change the underlying psychological habits that cause your anxiety, and often just talking about anxiety is not sufficient to change the mechanism that creates your anxiety. That is the focus of Mindfulness Therapy.

I've worked with many people over the years now and they all really like the mindfulness approach. It gives greater insights than the typical with standard talk therapy and it gives you the tools to work with your anxiety and produce effective change.

In Mindfulness Therapy we do this by developing a very conscious and mindful relationship with our emotions. We look directly at our emotions and we see how they work. The first thing we focus on is the constellation of habitual reactive thoughts that have the effect of reinforcing the underlying anxiety.

So the anxiety is kept alive by reactive habitual thoughts. So we need to work at that level. We need to develop more mindfulness to see these reactive thoughts in progress so that we can stop them and that we can begin to disengage that fuel source from the anxiety.

So being able to sit with the emotion without getting lost in reactive thinking is the first step in Mindfulness Therapy and the first major step in healing anxiety. When you have now established a non-reactive relationship with your anxiety then you can begin to help it heal and that is the second major theme in Mindfulness Therapy is all about healing.

So we do this in Mindfulness Therapy by developing a compassionate relationship with our anxiety and with other emotions that are associated with the anxiety. Compassion is an extremely powerful force and it's very much a part of mindfulness. Mindfulness can be defined as compassionate awareness in the present moment. So that means bringing compassionate awareness to your emotions in the present moment.

The third aspect of mindfulness is even more direct than that, and that is to actually look at the structure of the emotion. What is it that causes that emotion to arise in the mind? And the primary factor that constructs our emotions is imagery. The imagery of the emotion is what really hold it together and causes it to come into being. That imagery gets triggered by various factors, internal factors or external factors. But it's the imagery that actually causes the emotion. So that's the in-between step, if you like, of the habit that creates emotions.

So we look at this imagery when we are studying it in meditation. We're looking to see how that imagery works and then we investigate how to change that imagery to help the emotion heal. So when emotions heal they do so by changing their imagery, either with our involvement or not. The imagery has to change for the emotion to heal. So we help it change directly during our mindfulness meditation sessions.

I will teach you how to do this, how to apply mindfulness to work with your emotions and with your anxiety to facilitate healing. Because it's such a direct approach, most people see quite substantial changes within three or four sessions and you'll see even after the first session. You'll get a feeling of where this is going and how this can really help you.

So if you would like to get started with me and you like the idea of talking to an online therapist who specializes in Mindfulness Therapy then to please contact me. Feel free to ask any questions you have about online therapy or about Mindfulness Therapy. When you feel ready, we can schedule the first session.

Best Online Therapy for Anxiety

How do you learn to be more at ease when you have bad anxiety?

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I am a professional mindfulness based psychotherapist, living in Colorado USA, and I offer online Mindfulness Therapy worldwide for the treatment of anxiety and depression and other common psychological problems that respond well to mindfulness based psychotherapy.
I’m often asked how to overcome anxiety, how to deal with anxiety that’s chronic and affecting the quality of my life. These kind of questions are very common indeed. Anxiety is a big problem and affects a huge number of people worldwide. And it’s something that responds really well to mindfulness therapy.
So in mindfulness therapy we don’t just talk about our anxiety, we don’t just talk about our feelings, but rather we focus on looking at how they actually work, looking at how we produce anxiety or depression or any other form of emotional suffering. We look at the internal psychological mechanism, the habits that create anxiety.
We look at the patterns of reactive thinking that feed the anxiety, and particularly we work on changing our relationship to these reactive habitual thoughts so that they don’t control us, so that they cease to dictate how we feel.

Online psychotherapy to manage obsessive intrusive thoughts

Skype Therapy for OCD - Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder & Intrusive Thoughts

Through Mindfulness Therapy we learn how to neutralize obsessive and intrusive thoughts, images and memories as well as neutralizing the compulsive impulses of compulsive behaviors.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression and OCD and other emotional problems using mindfulness therapy and mindfulness-based techniques rather than medications or the conventional talking therapy that you may be familiar with.

Mindfulness Therapy really tries to address the underlying process that causes your anxiety or depression or problem with intrusive thoughts and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

So Skype Therapy for OCD is one of the services that I offer. All my online therapy is done via Skype. It's very important that you use Skype or FaceTime or similar video platform because it's important that you can see each other during these sessions. This makes the therapy sessions much more effective.

During the online Skype therapy sessions that I offer I'll be teaching you how to work with the two primary elements of OCD.

So excessively worrying about that and obsessing over hygiene is one kind of reactive thinking that greatly accentuates the underlying anxiety. The thinking fuels anxiety feeds anxiety and it intensifies the anxiety. So that's one kind of thinking process.

The other kind of problems that people run into with thinking is intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts, intrusive images, intrusive memories. So this is sometimes called "Pure O" sort of a pure form of obsession that is caused by intrusive thoughts that really upsets the minds and cause considerable anxiety.

So that's one side of the work. We work with these obsessive or intrusive thoughts. On the other side of OCD is working with the compulsive behaviors.

So the thoughts convert into behaviors like hand washing or trying to clean every surface in the house multiple times over, or whatever it might be. The compulsive behavior is a response to the obsessive thinking.

We would typically imagine the obsessive-compulsive thought or activity, we would play it through in the mind and we would watch to see what kind of emotion is triggered. Typically, fear or anxiety, but it could be other emotions as I say. When we see that emotion we then start to build a relationship with the emotion itself based on consciousness, that's where the mindfulness comes in.

The second part of our work in mindfulness therapy is to see how those emotions work, to look at their structure. And it's become very clear to me through working with people over many years now, that the primary structure of the emotions, it is not thoughts, it is imagery.

So the thoughts are products of the emotion, but what causes the emotion is imagery, psychological imagery. The way that you see that fear or anxiety in the mind is what determines its intensity and that in turn leads to the propagation of thoughts and compulsive activities.

So we examine this imagery in great detail during mindfulness work on our OCD. We literally meditate on those thoughts and the emotions underneath the thoughts to see how they work, to look at their imagery, to see what it is about the imagery that causes them to be intense, that creates that intense emotional charge.

So if you would like to learn more about how to work with either obsessive thinking or intrusive thoughts, memories and images, and also to work with compulsive behaviors, then please contact me. Let's schedule an online therapy session via Skype.

Skype Therapy for OCD is a very effective way of learning how to manage OCD. Most people see quite dramatic changes after the first three or four sessions. Once you learn how to apply mindfulness to work with your OCD you'll see very encouraging results.

So if you're interested in Skype Therapy for OCD then please reach out to me. Contact me. Tell me more about your particular situation. Tell me what times and days work for you and then we can go ahead and schedule the first Skype Therapy session to help you overcome your obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Online treatment for agoraphobia without drugs/medication

Online treatment for agoraphobia without drugs/medication

Contact me to learn more about how to overcome agoraphobia without resorting to medications, which do nothing to transform the underlying cause of your anxiety.

Agoraphobia Therapy Online over Skype

Email me to schedule a Skype therapy session with Dr. Peter Strong, specialist in online mindfulness therapy for anxiety and depression.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide online therapy via Skype for anxiety and depression and particularly for the treatment of agoraphobia. So if you're looking for agoraphobia therapy online I invite you to go to my website. Read more about this online therapy service that I offer hand please contact me if you would like to schedule some Skype Therapy sessions with me to help you overcome your agoraphobia.

So if you are suffering from agoraphobia it is essential that you are able to find an online therapist to work with simply because it's so difficult for you to leave home. And there are a number of services now offering online psychotherapy for the treatment of agoraphobia and other anxiety disorders too.

Whether you choose me or someone else, the important thing is that you find a therapist to work with who uses Skype or similar video platform because it's very important that you can see each other. That will improve the quality of communication and the quality of the therapy that you are getting.

The other thing is make sure that you feel completely comfortable with the therapist that you select. Make sure that they answer your questions about the therapist's approach and trust your own judgment, your own intuition. That is by far the best guide, much more so than how many letters the therapist has after his name. What's important is that you feel comfortable with the therapist and you like the approach that they are offering.

So in the style of agoraphobia therapy that I offer is based on the application of mindfulness. Mindfulness Therapy is a very effective way of working with anxiety disorders like agoraphobia. It also helps you manage panic attacks and any other aspect of anxiety that's causing you distress and that are limiting the quality of your life.

So in Mindfulness Therapy the primary approach that we take is called Mindfulness-based Exposure Therapy, and that is where you will basically design a series of challenges with my help so that you can begin to train yourself out of the anxiety habits.

So in mindfulness training we teach that suffering like anxiety and depression is basically an emotional habit. It is the result of conditioning. This habit formation gets started, often in childhood, and it never gets resolved. And this anxiety shows up in different forms different types of anxiety such as agoraphobia or social anxiety or a phobia or panic attacks or driving anxiety, etc.

So the first stage is to set up a schedule of exposure challenges. And then what is most important is to train using mindfulness for each challenge that you schedule. Exposure therapy by itself is not sufficient. You must train with the anxiety beforehand.

So we do this by a technique called Rehearsal Meditation, whereby you imagine doing that challenge in order to find the anxiety and then you start working with that anxiety using mindfulness and compassion.

You look at the structure of the anxiety, you find out how it works. You look at the patterns of reactive thoughts that feed that anxiety and you begin to change your relationship to the anxiety formation. You start to break free from its influence by becoming more and more aware of it, more conscious of the thoughts and the emotion. The basic rule here is that the more you see, the less fear you will experience. That may seem counter-intuitive but it's actually the case. Fear is based on what you don't see much more than what you do see.

So we do this in great detail with the challenge in our imagination before we do the challenge. That's why it's called a Rehearsal Meditation. When you can visualize doing that challenge, whatever it might be, perhaps just walking around the block or driving in the car, if you can do that, whatever it might be, when you feel that you can do that with the complete absence of anxiety then you do the live challenge, the exposure challenge, and your training that you did in the Rehearsal Meditation will take effect and will effectively inhibit any anxiety reactions during the challenge.

And when you take this approach you'll start to see dramatic improvements in a very short time. Typically, most of my clients see quite dramatic changes after three to four weeks of doing this kind of progressive exposure challenge using mindfulness.

Skype Therapy - Mindfulness Therapy via Skype for Anxiety & Depression

Online Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy via Skype for Controlling Anxiety & Depression without drugs.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy and I provide online mindfulness-based psychotherapy for treating anxiety and depression without using drugs.

So, Mindfulness Therapy is extremely effective for helping you change the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or any other form of emotional suffering that affects the quality of your life. We work at the level of the reactive habits, the reactive thinking and the patterns of emotional reactivity that produce our anxiety and depression. We learn to see these patterns and we learn to help them change by becoming more conscious and by developing a conscious relationship with these patterns.

So this is the first most important thing that we must do if we want to change. We have to develop a conscious and non-reactive relationship to our reactions. If you don't do that then the reactions become habitual. That is, they become subconscious and continue to operate without any choice and without our control. But once you make them conscious, then you can begin to change them and produce the internal changes that are necessary to train yourself out of those habits.

So anxiety and depression and most other forms of emotional suffering are really emotional habits. They are simply reactive habits that become established and then become subconscious and operate without our say. So the first step in mindfulness-based psychotherapy is learning to see these habits and then break free from the habitual nature that fuels the reactivity.

Doing this on Skype is a very effective way of learning these mindfulness skills. You don't have to see a mindfulness therapist in person in order to learn how to work with your mind. You can do that very well via Skype. So that's why I offer online psychotherapy via Skype. It works really well, and the intention is to give you the tools so that you can break free from the habits of anxiety or depression without having to resort to medications or years of analytical therapy.

Medications are not sufficient to change these psychological habits. That requires a form of psychological response, psychological training or psychotherapy. But the function of psychotherapy should be to see these habits and then change them consciously.

The second most important part of Mindfulness Therapy, besides becoming more aware of our habits, is to look at the underlying emotional structure. So what is it that's driving those habits? So what is the nature of the underlying emotions that is driving our anxiety or depression or addiction or any other form of emotional suffering?

So typically, the root of just about all emotional suffering, whether it's anger or guilt or addiction or self hatred or anxiety or depression in its many different forms, you will find that underneath all of these forms of reactivity you will find fear. Fear is usually the root energy source for anxiety and depression and all of the different forms of emotional suffering.

So we learn to build a conscious and mindful relationship with this fear. That is essential. The habits simply take us away from that fear. They displace our attention away from the fear that needs us more than anything else. So to heal fear we must develop a conscious and compassionate relationship with that fear.

This is a central focus in Mindfulness Therapy, the system that I developed over the years and that I teach via Skype. It's all about learning how to develop a compassionate and friendly relationship with your anxiety and depression and with the fear underneath the anxiety and depression.

So we learn to look at that fear and in the same way that we might look at a child that was in a state of fear. We learn how to respond compassionately towards that fear the same way that we would do is respond compassionately to a child that was afraid or to a friend that was suffering. This is vital for healing. Developing this internal relationship, a relationship based on internal love, that is love for the fear.

We learn to take care of that fear and bring it what it most needs for healing which is that love. So this we describe has developing an internal relationship between your True Self, which is the origin of true love and the Little Self which is that fear. When that relationship is strong then healing is very much accelerated and the fear will heal in direct proportion to the strength of that internal relationship.

So we learn how to bring love to our fear, to our pain, to our anger, to our guilt, to our compulsive thoughts, to our negative thoughts, whatever it is that's generating our suffering. That's what we must bring this internal love to, or mindfulness.

Mindfulness basically is the conscious expression of love for our experience whatever that is, whether it's neutral, or suffering, or whether it's joyful. If we bring conscious love to it, that will promote healing and well-being and greater joy in our life.

So the way we do this is to actually learn how to meditate on our fear and other emotions and other parts of the mind that are stuck that are in a state of suffering. We meditate on those emotions and thoughts and traumatic memories and so on. We do not avoid them. We do not try to talk ourselves out of experiencing those states of suffering, but rather we try to develop a conscious and friendly relationship with those parts of ourselves. This is vital.

We do not indulge in the fear either. We do not indulge in anger or depression or anxiety. We instead develop a conscious and non-reactive relationship that is the basis of love. This is necessary to produce healing.

So we meditate on our emotions. We establish this strong internal relationship based on love and then we explore what ways we can interact with the fear that will allow it to release its fear that promotes healing. And so healing is the primary goal in Mindfulness Therapy. It is to find the fear and then bring about its healing through our internal compassion and love and consciousness.

So if you would like to learn more about mindfulness-based psychotherapy via Skype, then please go to my website and then e-mail me. Ask any questions you may have about the process and how to get started with therapy via Skype. And when you feel ready we can schedule your first Skype therapy session.

The Mindfulness Therapy approach is extremely effective for the reasons that I outlined, briefly. Most people will see dramatic improvements within the first few sessions. The moment you start changing that relationship that you have with your emotions the faster they the healing happens.

Online therapist for anxiety - Effective Mindfulness Therapy for Anxiety

Online therapist for anxiety - Effective Mindfulness Therapy for Anxiety

Online therapist for anxiety - Effective Mindfulness Therapy for Anxiety. Visit: https://pdmstrong.wordpress.com/online-therapist-for-anxiety-via-skype/ to schedule a Skype therapy session with Dr. Peter Strong, specialist in online mindfulness therapy for anxiety and depression.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, which I offer online via Skype for the treatment of anxiety and depression, addictions and many other common psychological-emotional problems that really respond well to mindfulness training.

So if you're looking for an online therapist to provide you with effective techniques for working with your anxiety and reducing it and eliminating your anxiety, then please reach out to me. Simply e-mail me. Tell me more about yourself and the particular problems that you're struggling with and ask any questions you may have about online mindfulness therapy.

So seeing a therapist online is a very good choice for most people, especially if you use Skype so that you can see each other, then really, there's no difference at all in my experience between online therapy or seeing a therapist in person.

So how do we apply mindfulness for working with anxiety? Well there are lots of different aspects to this, but the first most important thing to understand is that anxiety is a habit. It's something that got established early on in your life and it became habitual, which means that it operates out of consciousness. So the first aspect of recovery from any kind of anxiety condition is developing more consciousness and that is exactly what mindfulness is all about. It's developing an awakened consciousness to see your anxiety clearly as it is without reacting to it, without becoming lost in the constellation of reactive thoughts and beliefs and emotional reactions that make up the structure of anxiety.

We practice seeing all of these components clearly and without becoming unconscious, without becoming reactive. When you react you essentially lose consciousness and you become controlled by that habit reaction. So this is the first necessary condition for healing anxiety: developing more consciousness.

The second part of mindfulness training, and I will teach you how to do this, is to develop compassion and friendliness towards your anxiety and other emotions that make up that anxiety. The friendliness component is an essential ingredient of mindfulness. If it does not have compassion or love within it then it is not mindfulness. It may be awareness but it's certainly not mindfulness. Mindfulness must have this. There's this added quality of friendliness and compassion.

So we learn to cultivate compassion towards our anxiety and, of course, that is precisely what the anxiety or fear needs. It needs to reconnect with that bigger part of you that can provide love and compassion. Anxiety typically gets started when those mental formations become disconnected from your True Self. When they become isolated and cut off from your True Self, that's what allows them to proliferate and that prevents them from healing.

So if this interests you if you are interested in talking to an online therapist who specializes in mindfulness therapy for anxiety then do please reach out to me by email. Go to my website learn more about mindfulness therapy in general for treating anxiety and then email me and lets schedule a Skype therapy session you will see very quickly just how powerful mindfulness therapy and training can be for her healing anxiety and other forms of emotional suffering. So if you want to get started with the mindfulness approach rather than medications please contact me. Thank you.

Effective Agoraphobia Help Online via Skype

Effective Agoraphobia Help Online via Skype

Effective Agoraphobia Help Online via Skype. Visit: https://pdmstrong.wordpress.com/online-therapist-for-agoraphobia/ to schedule a Skype therapy session with Dr. Peter Strong, specialist in online mindfulness therapy for the treatment of agoraphobia and anxiety without resorting to medications.

Welcome! I provide online therapy via Skype for the treatment of anxiety and depression and other emotional problems including agoraphobia. So if you're looking for effective online therapy for your agoraphobia, then I invite you to please reach out to me. Contact me through my website and ask any questions you may have about my approach and how to overcome agoraphobia effectively without using medications, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have, and when you feel ready, we can schedule some sessions.

So I usually see people once a week, typically, in the case of agoraphobia. We may need to meet for six to seven or eight sessions depending on how well you do. The most important thing in overcoming Agoraphobia is your commitment to change. If you are really motivated to overcome your agoraphobia and the associated anxiety and panic attacks, then we will be able to make progress. If you're able to really work hard at your recovery process and put the methods into practice that I will be teaching you during the first sessions, then you'll see results.

So what are these methods? Well the very first thing we must do is design a schedule of incremental challenges so that you have material to work with every day. But just throwing yourself into a difficult anxiety-producing situation is not a suitable strategy. That's not going to produce results. Exposure therapy by itself is not usually very effective.

What we have to do is train with the mind. We have to prepare very carefully before we do any of these challenges, and that is the training that I provide called Mindfulness Therapy or Mindfulness-based Exposure Therapy. So this is where we combine the methods and the technology of mindfulness for working with the anxiety reactions.

Anxiety itself is a habit. It's not a disease. It's not a disorder. It should not be treated with medications, in my opinion. It should be treated as a psychological habit. And habits can be changed when you bring more conscious awareness to them. And of course, that is the primary focus of mindfulness training is to bring more conscious awareness to your anxiety reactions and to the anxiety producing thoughts that tend to feed that anxiety.

As we developed more equanimity we can then start to respond with even stronger mindfulness methods. And this is really the response of compassion. Compassion is an integral part of mindfulness. Mindfulness is not just awareness, it's awareness combined with compassion, with this inner natural innate state that we have of responding to suffering when we see suffering.

So if you would like to learn more about the mindfulness-based approach to overcoming your agoraphobia, then please reach out to me by email.

Let's schedule a session. All sessions are done via Skype. You must have some kind of video interface so that you can see each other. That's essential really for good communication. But if you have Skype or Face Time or similar platform then therapy by Skype is just isn't as effective as meeting in person. There's no difference. So if you'd like to get started with me and learn how to overcome your agoraphobia from home using mindfulness therapy then please contact me. Thank you.
