Hi! My name is Peter Strong. I'm an Online Psychotherapist and Counselor and that I specialize in Mindfulness-based Treatment for anxiety and depression and other emotional problems.
So, why do we want to do treatment online, you may wonder? Well, the greatest reason that people tell me is the ease of it. This provides folks an opportunity to talk about their psychological issues, depression or their anxiety rather than having to drive to your therapist's office.

That's one thing. Secondly, there is plenty of evidence now being printed from studies on the equivalence of the online medium, particularly using some video call technology or Skype, to face-to-face psychotherapy that is traditional. But also, lots of people are just are unable to have entry to a therapist should they live in rural areas, or some folks, like those affected by severe social anxiety and agoraphobia, find it difficult to depart home.

Any rate, Online Mindfulness Therapy is among the exciting new developments in this type of psychotherapy. What's Mindfulness Therapy? Well, mindfulness is a really early technique is currently finding applications that are incredible in modern psychotherapy and developed by the Buddha 2500 years ago, and essentially this describes a way of working with emotions, for example depression and nervousness in a level that is very profound, as opposed to merely talking about them.

OK, so in Mindfulness Therapy there's really three things that go on. The very first level, the initial stage, of treatment is called RECOGNITION in the system that I teach, and this is essentially training one to become conscious of your patterns of negative thinking and psychological reactivity.

Normally, these patterns become habitual and operate automatically, and we're not that conscious of them, just of the anguish that they create. So, the first phase is you have to start to learn how to understand these routines with mindfulness, becoming very aware of them.

The 2nd stage is called the RELATIONSHIP period, and this really is where you begin to establish a relationship, where you start to investigate the emotion very closely, not at the thinking level, but at the feeling level. It's the feeling level of memory or the belief or patterns of negative thinking. It's the feeling amount that keeps them living. So, the purpose of Meditation Therapy will be to attempt to resolve this energy that is trapped mental.

OK, along with the third phase is called the RESOLUTION period, where we begin to explore precisely how itself can unfold and release at the sensory level. This generally includes plenty of vision that is experiential. They usually have a very graphic kind of imagery associated with that memory when folks have a traumatic memory.

When you start to view the arrangement of the vision, in other special features or properties of the imagery and the form of contours as well as shades, then you might have something really concrete to work with. And, as the theory says, as the properties of the imagery change so the mental intensity also shifts. And, in the task of Mindfulness Therapy, we're constantly inquiring what specific changes lead to the resolution of your anxiety or depression.

And that describes the three phases afterward: The Recognition stage. We say you have to start to learn how to understand what is going on and awakening to the patterns which are sustaining your anguish. But, the 2nd stage is very, very significant where you start to build an internal therapeutic space throughout the emotion, instead of responding to it or reacting to it or perhaps responding to it through proliferating thinking.

It's only when you're able to sit still along with your internal pain and engaged-presence, which will be certainly one of my definitions of mindfulness, being very, very still and listening at a level that is very subtle. When change starts to happen, this is, that is the inner curative space in which change begins to occur naturally by itself. Most of our trouble is that we get through inattention in the way of this natural healing process, through unawareness.

Mindfulness is the means that eases the method of this natural healing and also the growth of natural intelligence, intuition and imagination that leads to a sense of gratification in life and also a better happiness.
