The style of psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is a much better alternative to the older-styles of "talk therapy."  The focus of mindfulness-based therapy is to help you transform and heal the underlying core reactive emotional processes that create anxiety, depression and addiction, and this is far more effective than just talking about your emotions or treating the symptoms with medications.

During these online Skype sessions I will teach you specific mindfulness techniques and methods for working with difficult emotions that will promote healing and transformation. In essence, the key to healing is to change the way you relate to your emotional suffering. Our habit is avoidance and aversion to emotional pain, which simply has the effect of reinforcing the underlying emotions and prevents healing and change. During mindfulness therapy you learn how to embrace your painful emotions with full conscious awareness and compassionate friendliness. This makes all the difference. When you stop suppressing your emotions, then you see more into their inner structure, and as we say "THE MORE YOU SEE, THE MORE THEY CHANGE."

Also, as you begin to cultivate a friendly and conscious relationship with your emotions, you will undo the habitual tendency to identify with those emotions; you learn how to be aware of your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them. This neutralizes the reactivity that fuels and amplifies the emotional suffering, and promotes healing and transformation.
