Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I provide online counseling via Skype for the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress; also for the treatment of food addictions including Binge Eating Disorder.

So, as an online therapist I will try to help you overcome those patterns of habitual reactive thinking that cause the behavior of binge eating or other food addiction. That's the most important first step, to identify these patterns of reactive thinking and the emotional impulses that power those thoughts. and we start to develop a mindful relationship with these imposes that allows us to break free from the habit of simply acting them out through binge eating.

So, learning this form of emotional regulation is very important, but it's not the only part of Mindfulness Therapy. In order to successfully break free from food addiction and binge eating disorder you must also look at the underlying core emotions themselves that create the need for food addiction and this means looking at the underlying anxiety or depression or other emotions that are fueling the whole process.

The emotional impulses are fueled by these underlying core emotions and these must be changed and healed, and this is what we do during the online therapy sessions. We learn how to actually mediate on these core emotions as well as the emotional impulses. This means that we learn how to establish a non-reactive relationship with these emotions based on awareness and acceptance, the two most important things required for healing and transformation of emotional problems. Of course, most of us our lost in patterns of habitual reactivity that are based on avoidance and resistance, and these are your greatest enemies: avoidance and resistance.

Mindfulness Therapy attempts to completely break free of these habits of avoidance and resistance by cultivating their opposite which is conscious awareness and conscious acceptance.
