Really, what we're most concerned with doing is helping you shift your relationship to your own emotions. Most of us live in fear of our panic attacks, our anxiety, our depression or our compulsion, of our emotional anguish if it's a habit you might be addressing. We attempt to avoid them or we react with fantastic aversion, self-criticism and self-loathing. Avoidance and Aversion are your worst enemies. Your worst enemies only fuel the underlying procedure for emotional suffering and prevent change. It is not impossible to change anxiety and depression or dependency, but you must first develop an aware and friendly relationship with your emotions, and that is maybe one of the hallmarks of Mindfulness Therapy.
When you've the proper relationship with your emotions then they start to change. You effectively create the right internal emotional conditions that permit them to change. Therefore, this is exactly what we call building Right Relationship and that is a very, very significant basis in Mindfulness Therapy.
Another matter that we explore during our therapy sessions that are online is to investigate the specific construction of your emotions; how they actually work. This is very different than normal "talk therapy." We are not talking about emotions, we are in fact investigating your worst enemies to find out how they work. And this is where we come to the place of what's called Mental Imagery, because its the manner in which you see your emotions and ideas in the mind how powerful or overpowering those emotions are and that discovers how extreme they are. It's the way you see them, how you picture those thoughts and emotions in the mind, and most people are unaware of it, but mindfulness is all about creating knowledge and consciousness and inquiring the actual arrangement of your emotions.
The more you explore the image arrangement of your emotions the more detail you'll discover. This starts to gave you choice as that imagery can be changed by you, so that as you alter the emotional imagery, the emotion itself begins to transform. So, that's a theme that is second that individuals develop during online Skype therapy sessions. We take a look at the structure of your emotions, we examine the vision and we begin to explore making changes in that imagery that results in a decrease to anxiety or depression or compulsion.
