My name is Peter Strong, and I am an online psychotherapist.
Many people really like online psychotherapy because of it's convenience, because you can make your therapy call from home rather than having to visit a therapist in their office. The other advantage of online therapy is that it's generally very much less intimidating for you as the client. It feels much more comfortable for you, and that's very important because the more comfortable you feel the better will be the outcome from your therapy sessions.

The school of therapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, and this works extremely well over the internet. That's because it's based on teaching you very specific practical skills for working with your emotions, whether that's anxiety or depression or OCD or an addiction. What I find most people  need are practical methods for working with their emotions by themselves, between sessions, and that's what I focus on teaching during these online psychotherapy sessions.

Another reason why people like to talk to a psychotherapist online is because they may want greater anonymity than they may find in their local community. They don't necessarily want to talk to a local therapist. So, greater privacy is also a component of online therapy.
