Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional on-line psychotherapist. I specialize in Mindfulness Treatment, which is one of the top treatments for insomnia. It's using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in conjunction with Mindfulness.

As you may understand, most insomnia is the product of thinking that is reactive. We get lost in worrying and stress-producing thoughts that seem to flood the mind when we're wanting to get to sleep.

The most crucial treatment for anxiety thinking would be to actually change the way in which that you connect to your own thoughts. Instead of attempting to fight your thoughts and get them go away it's actually much more efficient to welcome your ideas. When you're lying in bed, don't fight your ideas but truly welcome them in hold them in this space of awareness that is friendly, rather than hostile aversion. You simply make them stronger, should you fight your ideas and this keeps that state of cognitive reactive arousal that prevents the onset of sleep.
